Bonfire #269 Battle Lake Adventures
July 15, 2026
Minnesota, Here We Come!
Set among the beautiful lakes of Minnesota, this Warrior Bonfire retreat blends outdoor adventure, history, and camaraderie in a setting built for connection. Named for an 18th-century battle between the Ojibwe and Sioux, Battle Lake provides a meaningful backdrop for Purple Heart veterans to come together, challenge themselves, and support one another through shared experiences.
Purple Heart veterans explored the best of Minnesota, from walking across the headwaters of the Mississippi River and climbing a 100-foot fire watch tower to horseback riding, kayaking, jet skiing, pontoon boating, and plenty of fishing. And when we say plenty, we mean it! The group reeled in an estimated 100 fish, including bass, bluegill, walleye, and northern pike. Throughout the week, the laughter came easy, the friendly ribbing never stopped, and the bonds between veterans grew stronger with every shared experience.
Our Battle Lake Adventures retreat was filled with the kind of laughter and camaraderie that makes Warrior Bonfire so special to us.
The retreat concluded with a powerful Bonfire Ceremony, where stories were shared, tears were shed, and the reminder echoed once again that no warrior heals alone.
Another incredible week. Another unforgettable group. Another reminder of why these retreats matter so much.
