Adventure On The Coast Of Maine.

Our first Warrior Bonfire retreat in Maine brought together a fantastic group of Purple Heart veterans who connected almost immediately. From the water to the dinner table, the camaraderie was strong. So much laughter and good memories!

Purple Heart veterans headed out on a three-hour lobster fishing expedition, with the chance to enjoy their catch together or take some Maine lobster home.  They also explored the Cole

Land Transportation Museum, including its Purple Heart Monument and curated military exhibits, before spending an evening fishing and fellowshipping with local veterans serving as guides. The experience continued at Reigning Hope Ranch with an equine-assisted session, followed by time exploring the rugged beauty of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach, and Thunder Hole.

The Bangor community welcomed our group with open arms, especially the local fishing community, who went above and beyond to make the experience special by helping us cook lunch with the catch of the day!

From boots on the ground to boats on the water, this retreat was all about new experiences, meaningful connections, and making memories.

Experiences like these remind us how powerful it can be when veterans, volunteers, and an entire community come together. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make our first Maine retreat such a success.

We have a feeling Boots to Boats is just getting started and can’t wait to make this one an annual Warrior Bonfire tradition!
