Lloyd Munn

Mr. Munn  has been a Director of Loss Control Services for BancorpSouth Insurance since 2004.  Lloyd has close to 30 years of experience in the construction industry.  For 10+ years he worked in bridge and heavy highway construction where his responsibilities included job estimating, surveying and engineering, pile driving, job supervision and risk management .  For 9+ years he worked as a Sr. Risk Control Consultant in the insurance industry handling loss and control needs for clients such as Auto Dealerships, Manufacturing, Trucking, Restaurants and Contractors.  His experience has led him to work with contractors and others to improve their risk management programs in areas such as hazard recognition, fleet exposures, ergonomics, contract liability, worker’s compensation liability, general liability and safety training.  Lloyd is certified to train in various areas of risk management including: OSHA 10 and 30 hour construction courses, excavation, scaffolding, traffic control and flagging, accident investigation, forklift, effective supervision, crisis management, crane inspection and rigging; ATSSA Worksite Traffic Control Supervisor, Certified Crane Inspector and a 40-hour prep course for the NCCO exam for crane operators.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He frequently speaks at seminars and training events as well as State and National Conventions.

Lloyd is also known as, Lloyd “Hurricane” Munn in the music industry having played the harmonica and guitar in over 750 venues across the Southeast,  including a recent show at  Disney EPCOT with the “ABITA BLUES BAND”.He routinely plays harmonica with The Juvenators, Casey Phillips and the Hounds, Joe and Dustin Messina, Sherman Lee Dillon, Chris Gill, The Kool Filter Kings, Jessie Robinson, The Music Box, Rhythm and Rain, Island of Rhythm, The Big Juv Trioand The All Munn Brothers Band, to name a few. Lloyd’s talents can be easily inserted into and band and because of this he has played with many diverse groups that pass through central Mississippi area. These include: The Key West Band(the band), Buddy Ayers and the Fish Sticks, The Wes Loper Band, Kenny Brown and Jeff Healey.  He also has the privilege to gig with one of the country’s best harmonica players: Greg “Fingers” Taylor, long time member of Jimmy Buffett’s band, The Corral Reefers.

For the Warrior Bonfire Program, Lloyd created and manages the Jammin’ at the Bonfire sessions that the organization presents at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA in Jackson, MS, bring music therapy into the main lobby once a month.

Lloyd Munn has been married to his wife, Jeanie for 31 years.  They have three children, twin sons, William and Christopher Munn.  Gabrielle Munn is Junior at the University of Southern Mississippi majoring in Polymer Engineering. He and his family have lived in Hattiesburg since 2004.
