July 9 - 13th, 2026

Battle Lake, MN

← Back to Retreats

Intensity Level – Medium

Set in the scenic lakes region of Minnesota, the Battle Lake retreat brings together outdoor adventure, history, and camaraderie. Named for an 18th-century battle between the Ojibwe and Sioux, this meaningful location provides space for Purple Heart recipients to come together, challenge themselves, and support one another.

Participants will enjoy horseback riding, jet skiing, kayaking, pontoon boating, and fishing for walleye, northern pike, and bass in some of the area’s most beautiful waters.  Attendees may have an opportunity to water ski if desired. The group will visit Itasca State Park to see the headwaters of the Mississippi River, where you can literally step across the Mighty Mississippi.

Shared experiences on the water, on horseback, and around the lake create an ideal setting to connect, reflect, and build lasting bonds with fellow Purple Heart recipients in a peaceful and historic environment.
