Intensity Level – Medium
Catfishing for Camaraderie is a one-of-a-kind retreat designed exclusively for Purple Heart recipients, bringing together adventure, teamwork, and connection on the waters of Mississippi. This hands-on fishing experience is all about shared moments, learning new skills, and building bonds through time spent side by side.
Participants will catfish in a variety of ways—including rod and reel, fishing using floats, noodling, and more—across locations such as the Ross Barnett Reservoir and the Yazoo and Big Black Rivers, depending on where the fish are biting. Professional fishing guides will lead all activities, providing instruction, ensuring safety, and welcoming all experience levels.
Meals will feature the fish caught during the retreat, and with the expected abundance, participants will also have the opportunity to give back by donating fish to the Jackson Veterans Home for a community fish fry. This retreat blends outdoor tradition, service, and camaraderie—creating meaningful connections that extend beyond the water.
